I have suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis for nearly 15 years. I was treated with numerous medications and lived in a tremendous amount of pain. I was unable to walk up stairs, and could only walk in my home, as any leveled surface caused me to fall. I walked with the use of a cane for 12 years; after having progressed from a wheelchair to a walker to the cane. I developed trouble sleeping and was unable to do so for longer than 4 hours a night. Additionally, sitting for prolonged periods of time increased the stiffness in my hip, making it nearly impossible to rise to a standing position without excruciating pain. This was also the cause for numerous falls which caused stress and depression.

Dr. Savage came highly recommended to do total surgical hip replacement and after my first visit, it only took a week to make up my mind to go through with the procedure. Dr. Savage was great about the description and details of the surgery and put me at ease regarding the process. He felt that I was a good candidate and strongly recommended it. Thereafter, the recovery only took 6 weeks, ridding myself of my wheelchair, walker, and cane. It came as a tremendous surprise to many of my friends and family, however, my only response after walking comfortably without discomfort and a cane is I’m very pleased with the outcome. I recently had my annual checkup and everything looks and feels great! I will return in 2 years for my next check up!
