Total Knee Replacement

Mal-tracking and tilting of the patella is seen in 29-40% of procedures with traditional total knee arthroplasty. Dr. Savage utilizes the latest in computer-assisted technology to significantly improve the overall function of the new joint.

Total knee replacement surgery removes the damaged and painful areas of the femur (thigh bone) and tibia (lower leg bone). These areas are then replaced with specially designed metal and polyethylene plastic parts. Dr. Savage uses state of the art computer-assisted technology to help facilitate implant alignment which is an important factor that may reduce joint wear and extend the life of the implant. infrared trackers are utelized to constantly monitor the location of markers and instruments placed along the patient. Data collected by the tracking system supplies Dr. Savage with measurements unique to your anatomy.
